Richard J. Pelletier’s practiced law for seven years before returning to his consulting & insurance career which spans well over 25 years. His tenure includes management at National Health Insurance Company in the small employer group health insurance market where as Regional Manager he operated three offices covering the New England region. At Aetna/US Healthcare he served in the Group Medicare Department as a Massachusetts Municipal Representative. He also worked with retired employees of large corporate clients such as AT&T, The U.S. Postal Service, and NYNEX.

Richard has worked with general practitioners in both the legal and accounting fields allowing these and other professional advisors the capacity to respond internally to elder clients’ during a crisis episode.

In his estate & insurance practice he has advised thousands of pre and post retirees on how to protect their family assets, their retirement income, and avoid the common mistakes made by most retirees. In addition, he has co-authored two books, "Tax Strategies for the Highly Compensated" (a professional continuing education textbook for CPA's), and "Advising Elders In Crisis" (a Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publication), Richard uses long-term care insurance, annuities, and/or life insurance to implement some strategies.

Mr. Pelletier holds a Juris Doctorate (Law Degree) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was the Administrator of the Geri-Care Nursing home a 200 bed nursing home while attending Law School. He has been a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 1999.

As a former member of the adjunct Faculty of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and at Western New England College, he lectured in Law and Economics. Richard has also lectured at numerous senior centers and Councils for the Aging. He has been a public speaker at various organizations like the Lions Club as well as forums for Elder Law Week, a series of seminars co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association and The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has appeared on "Law Talk," a television program hosted by Attorney Frank Saia and seen over the Comcast public access network as a featured speaker on elder issues, and on WWLP's "22 SHOWCASE" in a series of interviews on a paid advertising format. Mr. Pelletier uses his experience to help retirees protect and grow their qualified retirement accounts and IRA's. His focus is protecting family assets by the planned avoidance of the Probate Court system and from the financially devastating effects of financing long-term care; especially where Long Term Care Insurance is NOT available due to cost and/or medical underwriting challenges.
